The CTE program in Liberty Hill has incorporated cooking and service projects into their curriculum. As part of their coursework, students applied foundational cooking and food preparation skills by making homemade dog treats from scratch. This project allowed them to practice measuring, following multi-step directions, maintaining kitchen safety standards, and working collaboratively. To complete the project, students donated the treats to a local animal shelter, connecting their classroom learning to a service project. This experience not only strengthened their culinary abilities but also fostered empathy, responsibility, and a sense of pride in giving back.
